Monkeyland

Monkeyland is a sanctuary for, well, monkeys actually! Actually I think they would prefer to be referred to as a primate sanctuary. The monkeys are fed by the staff at the park but they put the food out at 4am when the monkeys are asleep so that they don't know where it comes from. This way the monkeys are kept as 'wild' as possible.

We were taken on a tour of the forest by one of the guides. The tour involved walking across a rope bridge, which was interesting to say the least. The last picture below is of a grey monkey on a wooden verandah. This monkey bit the leg of a lady visiting the sanctuary, which made a hole in her trousers & made her yelp in pain. Isobel found this very amusing!
